Divorce is stressful, painful, frustrating, and scary. Bringing issues to the table and sticking to the fast using a 3rd party neutral spares much of the fighting, time involved, (and cost) of having lawyers representation or judges orders. By coming to an acceptable agreement for both sides, each party can move on with their lives
Perhaps there are items outside of a finalized divorce decree or possibly a situation where the details of that decree do not apply anymore. Without going through legal proceedings an agreement can be made that addresses those concerns.
Lets face it. We don't always see eye to eye with out siblings or other relatives. Details not covered in a will, loans to others, living arrangements, specific left behind items, and even debt are just some of the things any number of family members may disagree about. This is not limited to inheritance issues but any day to day family disputes where an intermediary may assist.
Many families may hold portions of a small business. Perhaps informal agreements were reached long ago and times have changed. Roles in business, shares of ownership, financial rights, etc all can be mediated to conclusion with the right perspective and methodology.
HOA disputes, next door neighbor differences of opinion, or any person to person conflict where specific terms can be applied are all good candidates for mediation.
By no means are the above an all inclusive list of the types of situations where mediation may be a good option. While we specialize and frankly prioritize in "family" mediation. There are no boundaries or topic that cannot be considered.
